Prometric® and JellyLearn Partner to Advance Driver Theory, Hazard Perception and Road Safety

Partnership will provide licensing organisations across EMEA with a single, unified, accessible solution for road safety assessments and certifications

London, UK – (November 2022) – Prometric, a global leader of technology-enabled testing and assessment solutions, announced a new partnership with JellyLearn, a leading provider of animated, high-quality road safety testing, and training and assessment content to simplify the delivery and adoption of Hazard Perception testing throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

Reseach commissioned by the UK government shows that Hazard Perception testing greatly reduces the number of deaths and serious injuries on the road. The partnership will meld Prometric’s innovative assessment delivery platform with JellyLearn’s evidence-based hazard perception clips to provide organisations across EMEA with a single, unified, and easy to implement solution for driver licensing and certification.

“Prometric has been involved in the development and delivery of driver theory testing for more than 20 years, so we are delighted to partner with JellyLearn, a recognized leader in the industry, to help advance driver theory and hazard prediction testing,” said Azadar Shah, Vice President, Growth Leader in Europe, and the Middle East at Prometric. “This partnership will have significant social and economic benefits to the region, and we look forward to working with JellyLearn to ensure licensing authorities and road safety organisations have the tools they need to promote safe driving and save lives on the road.”

In 2015, JellyLearn was the first company worldwide to use computer-generated imagery (CGI) for the Hazard Perception test in the United Kingdom to create authentic and realistic clips. All clips were designed and reviewed by road safety professionals to ensure they met stringent testing requirements. Subsequent road safety projects across Europe have extended the number and range of clips that have specifically been produced for different types of road users. JellyLearn now offers a comprehensive library of more than 400 clips for professional driver training service providers that can be tailored to meet different project requirements globally.

“Hazard Perception testing is an evidence-based solution that saves lives and prevents accidents on the road,” said Michael Bennett, Business Development Director at JellyLearn. “Our CGI technology creates clips that mimic real world scenarios. By partnering with Prometric, we can expand a proven solution to manage the testing process for licensing authorities. As the EU considers adding hazard perception for driver licensing, these organisations can now consider adding this to their existing infrastructure as early as possible.”

More than 2.1 million people take the Hazard Perception test in the UK every year. This partnership comes at a critical time for the region, as the European Union (EU) and World Health Organization (WHO) have announced ambitious targets to reduce road traffic deaths and injuries by 2030.
