With the increasing uptake of cycling as a preferred method of transport we have fortunately seen a decrease in accident rates in some parts of the world which is consistent with research that cycle lanes and other improvements are actually having an impact. Whilst more governments around the world try to build cycle lanes and implement other safety measures in urban and even rural areas many are still waiting for their introduction. Therefore, it becomes important that as more and more people are encouraged to cycle that they learn how to be safe on the roads.

Using animation is a fun and engaging way to help people understand the concepts of hazards and the clip below is a great example when using a cycle lane that you still need to be aware of potential hazards.
